The Toronto Arts Awards celebrate the artists, cultural leaders and businesses shaping Toronto through artistic excellence, cultural leadership and meaningful contributions to the city’s vibrant arts community. Presented annually, the awards recognize those who enrich our cultural life and help make Toronto a city of creativity, connection and possibility.
A refreshed identity was need to bring new energy to the Toronto Arts Foundation Awards while preserving its most iconic symbol: the award plate, a tangible part of the celebration’s history for many years. Inspired by the plate’s round shape, the new wordmark creates a visual link to Toronto Arts logo while turning the circle into a recognizable signature for the Awards.
A looped video was created for the reception area, highlighting all the artists and their work. The slow-motion direction was intentional, focusing on capturing the artists’ emotions and personalities during their interviews. Video by Selina McCallum.
As part of the awards collateral, key design assets were developed to support the nominations campaign.
A special publication created for the day of the event.
The magazine's design takes a deliberately simple, editorial approach - creating space for the artists and their work to lead.
